A great event for a great cause

As Claire Janisch’s biomimicry family, we were shocked to learn that Claire has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Claire is one of the first and most amazing Biomimicry Professionals in the world. As the (co)founder of Biomimicry South Africa and Learn Biomimicry she inspired and empowered thousands of people around the globe with her deep knowledge and beautiful high energy (if you don’t know her yet, google her and find numerous videos on YT).
We all know how strong Claire is, and she is applying her deep understanding of the wisdom of nature to guide her healing process going forwards. After a relatively successful surgery with a top oncological surgeon in Cape Town, she has found an excellent integrative doctor, also in Cape Town, to work with on the next phase of her treatment, and she truly believes she will get well in time.
We are trying to assist Claire by keeping her in our thoughts and sending her words of encouragement and support where possible. Furthermore, we want to help her in easing the significant treatment costs that are beyond her means. Claire’s medical insurance has not covered much of the recent surgery costs and won’t cover the treatment costs either, as it is outside of the scope of her hospital plan. She has also not been able to earn a full income for the past year while dealing with the illness. The full extent of the treatment going forward is not yet clear, but there is a commitment to at least a year in this phase.
Anybody who knows Claire, knows she is quite private and prefers to take care of herself – hating to ever ask for anything from anyone; far preferring the role of selfless giver. Nature is built around thriving networks and mutualistic ecosystems. Let’s use the power of our collective larger ecosystems and support Claire in this time of need, whilst bringing value to the world by organising this event with top-notch speakers on Biomimicry & Health.
All ticket sales and donations will go towards Claire’s treatment costs, with any further contributions going into a fund for her son, Jamie.
